What the base costs before you build it
Set a footprint and a grade, and the block list falls out of plain geometry — you can count it on graph paper. Every per-block price is the number the game charges, and the upkeep line uses Facepunch's own published tax bands.
Lay it out
Width and depth are counted in foundations. A storey is one ring of walls plus the deck above it.
Honeycomb adds one foundation-deep ring around the core, plus the inner shell of walls it protects. It roughly doubles the block count and roughly doubles the upkeep. Doorways and windows replace a wall rather than adding to one, so they come out of the wall total.
Pick a grade
Twig is free and useless. Every other grade is paid for in exactly one resource.

Counted from the footprint above. Add anything the geometry cannot know about — triangles, low walls, a spare doorway — underneath.
| Block | Count | Each | Subtotal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundation | 16 | 300 | 4,800 |
| Wall | 22 | 300 | 6,600 |
| Doorway | 2 | 210 | 420 |
| Floor / Ceiling | 16 | 150 | 2,400 |
What you have to farm
Blocks at the chosen grade, plus every deployable you added.
What it bills every day
Upkeep is banded, not flat, and your base pays the average across its blocks.
First 15 blocks 10% · next 25 at 15% · next 35 at 20% · everything past 75 at 33%
Blocks the shape does not cover
No two builders triangle a base the same way, so nothing here is assumed for you. Add what you actually intend to place.

Per-block prices were read block by block off the RustHelp wiki on 8 Aug 2026 and cross-checked against the tier ratio the game uses everywhere: 200 wood, 300 stone, 200 fragments or 25 high quality metal for a full-size block, and the same quadruple scaled down for the smaller pieces. Half walls, stairs and roofs are missing on purpose — their prices could not be confirmed, and a wrong number is worse than a missing one.
