Upkeep Calculator

What your base costs per day

Upkeep is a share of what the base cost to build, and that share climbs as you add blocks. Count the blocks of each grade and this works out the daily bill, how long the resources already in the cupboard will cover it, and where the money is going.

Your base

Count the blocks

Foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, doorways, windows and stairs all count as building blocks. Count each grade separately — a stone base with a metal core pays both bills.

A triangle is priced as half a square here, but still counts as one block against the rate brackets — that is the convention this tool uses, not a figure printed on an item.

From brackets

Leave this empty to use the bracket table below. Your cupboard prints the real 24-hour cost for your base — if it disagrees with us, it is right; type its percentage in and everything recalculates.

What the cupboard drains in a day at the rate above, with the hourly figure underneath.

No blocks counted yet

Add the blocks of at least one grade above and the daily cost appears here. Nothing is guessed — the cost per block is the in-game upgrade price.

The cupboard

How long what is in there lasts

Type in what is sitting in the tool cupboard right now. The first resource to run out is the one that decides when your base starts taking damage.

Fill in the cupboard contents and the countdown appears here.

The brackets

Why big bases pay more

The rate is marginal: the first blocks are cheap to keep and later ones cost more, so a 24-block base pays 11.9% rather than 10% or 15%.

Where these numbers come from

Block health, decay windows and the fact that upkeep is a share of build cost are from the Facepunch wiki page on the tool cupboard; the 10 / 15 / 20 / 33% brackets are from Facepunch devblog 189, the update that introduced upkeep. A full-size block costs 200 wood, 300 stone, 200 metal fragments or 25 HQM to upgrade. Checked 12 August 2026.

Doors, deployables and the cupboard itself also draw upkeep in game and are not counted here — this figure covers building blocks only, so treat it as a floor rather than the whole bill.
